A method that starts with what keeps you going.

Three stages, in this order: first the habit, then strength, then balance. Each one builds on the last, and all of them move forward in 21-day challenges.

  1. 1 Stage 1 of 3

    Habit

Before thinking about what to train, you need the hardest part: making movement something you do without arguing with yourself every day.

  2. 2 Stage 2 of 3

    Strength

With the habit running, it is time to add what protects your body most in the long run, and what the fewest people do: strength work.

  3. 3 Stage 3 of 3

    Balance

Once you move and do strength work, what is left is keeping it up. And that depends on what happens the rest of the day.

The rules of the method

Weeks, not streaks
Your goal is a number of days per week. It has slack and does not break because you missed a day.
Two out of three
You pass a 21-day challenge by meeting your goal in two of its three weeks. Consistency, not perfection.
Breaks do not count
Illness, injury or travel are marked as a break, and that week's goal adjusts.
You never go down
If a challenge does not work out, you repeat it. What you have already achieved is yours.
