Stage 1 of 3

First, the habit.

Before thinking about what to train, you need the hardest part: making movement something you do without arguing with yourself every day.

Why it starts here

Almost nobody quits exercise because their plan was bad. They quit because every session means deciding again, and one day the answer is no.

Habit research suggests that what predicts how much a person moves is having the start automated, not the specific activity. Someone with the habit of getting going can switch activities without losing it. That is why any activity counts at this stage.

What you do at this stage

You choose how many days a week you want to be active. We suggest between two and four depending on where you start, and you can change it whenever you like.

Each day you move, you log it in one tap: walking, cycling, swimming, strength, a match. A day counts from about fifteen minutes.

How you pass it

The first challenge lasts 21 days, and you pass it by meeting your goal in two of the three weeks. It does not need to be perfect.

Missing a day changes nothing: in the most cited study on habit formation, skipping one occasion barely affected the outcome. And if you get ill or travel, you mark a break and that week's goal adjusts.

What you will not find

Daily streaks. Studies show that a broken streak drains the will to continue, even when it breaks for reasons outside your control. Welfitlab counts weeks, which forgive.

There are no minute targets either. At this stage only one thing matters: coming back.

Next stage2. Strength

Your first challenge lasts 21 days. Start today.

Two minutes to tell us where you are starting from, and the method adapts to you.
